Gifts of Light to the Chapel:

All fixtures are of polished solid brass. The images shown are approximately the kinds of fixtures to be supplied to the Chapel when a supplier is finally selected.

All interior fixtures are Colonial, Williamsburg, Traditional.

Lighting in the Chapel is crucial to the various needs of the diverse functions and services. Wiring exceeding 4,000 feet has already been installed by the Electrical Contractor, KRAUSE ELECTRIC & REFRIGERATION, Somerset.  Junctions and hangers are in place to receive the fixtures when dry walling and painting are completed.  All fixtures are to be fitted with dimmers from two locations, front and rear of the Chapel.  The fixtures afford the greatest flexibility in light control, from brilliant full lighting, to dimmed lights for candlelight services, fading to complete darkness for audio-visual presentations.  Safety and emergency lighting is included in the complete lighting program.  Additional lighting includes recessed down-lights over the congregation and also focused accent lighting to highlight the Memorials and wall decorations.

Grand Chandelier:  In the center, the "heart" of the body of the Chapel.  The Grand Chandelier will have a minimum of 28 lights, in three tiers.  It is a minimum of six feet in diameter, although a supplier for a seven foot diameter Chandelier has been located.  It is almost five feet in height and will be suspended from central rafters on a specially installed support system which will include a lowering mechanism for maintenance and service.

The Grand Chandelier will be dedicated to all those who perished September 11, 2001.

The Memorialization of the Grand Chandelier is $5,000.00.  The name of the donor and the name of the one in whose honor or memory the Memorial is donated will be included in the Bronze Memorial Shrine on the rear wall of the Chapel.

Quarter acre Grove located on Chapel property, stand of mature trees, fifty to seventy five feet tall.

Site of Gazebo and Hearth, inside an already cleared circular area in the heart of the Grove.

FAMILY GROVE and GAZEBO: The Grove is a beautiful stand of mature trees occupying approximately one quarter of the full acre site upon which the Chapel is located.  It had been used in the past as the location for family picnics and bazaars when the Chapel functioned as a parish.  The Grove retains its allure as a natural location for a structure befitting Family use.  The Gazebo will be an octagonal structure 24' in diameter equipped with six picnic tables located in six of the octagonal segments, three opposite three.  One of the segments will be the entrance portal with an approach ramp to accommodate wheel chairs and also to facilitate access by eliminating approach steps.  The remaining octagonal section directly opposite the entrance portal will be a full wall of stone masonry having a four foot hearth in its center.  The "Family Hearth" will be constructed of local Pennsylvania stone; the design is consistent with traditional regional patterns.  Above the hearth and mantel, a bronze plaque of Dedication will be installed.

It is intended The Grove will be used as a place for rest and refreshment by families and visitors to the Chapel.  The hearth will provide warmth on damp and chilly days.  Roll-down shades when needed, will provide a breakfront against sudden changes in weather conditions.  The lawn of the grove has been well-maintained for many years through the good services of the next-door neighbor.  Owing to his diligent care, the lawn is already in excellent condition. A local stone mason, of excellent skill and exceptional artistry has been contacted to design and submit for consideration a plan for the Family Hearth, the heart and center of the Gazebo.  Plans for the construction of the Gazebo are still being drawn. The Grove and Gazebo will be dedicated in Honor of the Families, Children, Relatives and Friends of the Heroes of Flight 93

The Memorialization Donation for the Gazebo and Grove has not yet been determined.  The name of the donor and the name of the one in whose honor or memory the Memorial is donated will be included in the Bronze Memorial Shrine on the rear wall of the Chapel and will be designated at the site by a bronze plaque mounted above the Family Hearth.  Interested donors or corporate sponsors may contact the Chapel Director to check on progress.
